Seymour Papert

Seymour Papert was the first individual to suggest that computers could be used as a learning tool in the classroom. This MIT Professor began research in the 60's to discover the capabilities of computers as learning tools. His research lead to the development of LOGO, constructionist educational software for students in grades k-12. This software helps develop a child's creativity, problem solving skills, and critical thinking skills.

Papert has implemented technology based learning programs on every continent, even in some of the most remote places in the world. He now resides in Maine where he has set up a laboritory called the Learning Barn. This lab allows Papert to study and improve technology aided education.
